Return & Refund Policy

Pierce Land & Bison — Last Updated June 2026

No Returns on Food Products

All products sold by Pierce Land & Bison are frozen perishable food items. For the safety of all our customers, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges on any food product once it has left our facility. This applies to all orders regardless of the reason for return request.

This policy is standard practice for all direct-to-consumer meat and perishable food companies and is consistent with food safety regulations governing the sale of perishable goods.

All sales are final.

What We Do Cover

While we cannot accept returns, we stand fully behind the quality of our product and the accuracy of every order we ship. If any of the following occur, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we will make it right.

Damaged or Compromised Shipment

If your order arrives with packaging that is visibly damaged, torn, or shows signs of mishandling during transit, contact us immediately. Do not consume any product that you believe may have been compromised during shipping.

To process a claim you will need to provide:

  • Your order number
  • Photos of the damaged packaging and affected products
  • A brief description of the condition the package arrived in

Depending on the nature of the damage, we will offer a replacement, store credit, or a full or partial refund at our discretion.

Product Arrived Thawed

Our orders ship every Monday via UPS with sufficient dry ice to maintain safe frozen temperatures through expected transit times of 2–3 business days. In the event that your order arrives fully thawed due to a shipping delay beyond our control, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the product and packaging.

Please note the following:

  • Partially thawed product that is still cold to the touch and has not exceeded safe temperature thresholds is safe to cook or refreeze immediately. This does not constitute a defective product.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect shipping addresses provided at checkout, refusal of delivery, or failure to retrieve the package promptly after the first delivery attempt.
  • We are not responsible for thawing that occurs after successful delivery.

Wrong Item Received

If you receive an item that is different from what you ordered, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photos of what you received. We will ship the correct item in your next available Monday shipment or issue a full refund for the incorrect item at your choice.

Missing Items

If your order is missing one or more items, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and a description of what is missing. We will verify against our packing records and ship the missing item or issue a refund for it.

How to Contact Us

Email: contact@piercelandandbison.com

Please include your order number and photos in your first message. We respond within 1-2 business days.

We ask that all claims be submitted within 48 hours of delivery. Claims submitted after this window may not be eligible for resolution due to the perishable nature of our products.

Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled for a full refund if the cancellation request is received before your order has been packed and shipped. Orders are packed on Sunday evenings and ship every Monday morning. Cancellation requests received after your order has shipped cannot be accommodated.

To request a cancellation, email us at piercelandandbisonllc@gmail.com with your order number as soon as possible.

Chargebacks

We ask that customers contact us directly before initiating a chargeback with their bank or card issuer. We are a small family ranch and we take every concern seriously. In nearly all cases, we can resolve an issue faster and more fairly through direct communication than through a bank dispute process.

Chargebacks filed without first contacting us for resolution may result in your account being flagged and future orders declined.

Governing Law

This policy and any disputes arising from purchases made through piercelandandbison.com are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Our Commitment

We raise our bison on open Colorado grassland, process them at a USDA-inspected facility in northern Colorado, and pack every order with care. We are proud of what we produce and we want every customer to be satisfied. If something goes wrong, we want to know about it and we will do our best to make it right.

Pierce Land & Bison is a family-run ranch. This policy does not constitute legal advice. If you have specific legal questions regarding consumer rights in your state, we encourage you to consult an attorney.
