How We Ship
Every order from Pierce Land & Bison is packed by hand and shipped frozen with food-safe dry ice to keep your bison in perfect condition from our ranch in Deer Trail, Colorado to your door. We ship via UPS and take the cold chain seriously on every single order.
We ship to all 50 states and Washington D.C.
Shipping Schedule
When Orders Ship
All orders are packed and shipped every Monday. Place your order by Sunday at midnight Mountain Time and it ships the following Monday. Orders placed after that cutoff ship the Monday after. We do not ship Tuesday through Sunday. When Monday is a federal holiday, that week's orders ship on Tuesday.
Estimated Delivery
Ground States orders travel by UPS Ground and arrive in 1 to 2 business days after they ship. Air States orders travel by UPS 2nd Day Air and arrive in 2 business days. Alaska and Hawaii orders travel by UPS 2nd Day Air. Most orders are on your doorstep Wednesday.
Tracking
You will receive a tracking number by email the day your order ships. Use it to follow your package through UPS and plan to be home or have someone available to bring it inside promptly upon delivery.
Larger orders may ship in more than one cooler. Each box has its own tracking number and they travel together, so if one box arrives ahead of the other, the second is right behind it.
Shipping Rates
We charge one flat rate based on where your order is going. The rate is applied automatically at checkout from your shipping address. Orders of $300 or more shipping anywhere in the lower 48 states or Washington D.C. ship free.

Free shipping is applied automatically at checkout on qualifying orders. It does not apply to Alaska or Hawaii. Rates cover one order regardless of how many coolers it takes to pack it.
Packaging & Cold Chain
All orders are shipped frozen in an insulated foam cooler with a thermal liner and about five pounds of food-safe dry ice. The dry ice is sized to hold safe frozen temperatures through the expected transit window of 1 to 2 business days under normal conditions.
When your order arrives, please follow these steps:
- Place all products in your freezer immediately if you are not cooking within 1 to 2 days.
- Handle dry ice with care. Do not touch it with bare hands and do not store it in a sealed container indoors.
- Partially thawed product that is still cold to the touch is safe to cook immediately or refreeze.
- If your order arrives fully thawed, contact us within 48 hours with photos per our Refund Policy.
We are not responsible for product quality after successful delivery. Once the package is in your hands and confirmed delivered by UPS, proper storage becomes your responsibility.
Delivery Issues
Incorrect Address
You are responsible for providing an accurate and complete shipping address at checkout. If your order is undeliverable due to an incorrect address, we are not responsible for the loss and cannot guarantee a replacement. Address correction fees charged by UPS will be passed on to the customer.
Failed or Missed Delivery
We strongly recommend ensuring someone is available to receive your order on the expected delivery day. Packages left outside in warm weather or held at a UPS facility beyond the dry ice window may arrive thawed. Pierce Land & Bison is not responsible for thawing or spoilage caused by missed deliveries or failure to retrieve the package promptly.
Lost or Damaged in Transit
If your package is lost or arrives visibly damaged, contact us within 48 hours of the scheduled delivery date with your order number and photos. We will work with UPS to resolve the issue and make it right.
